Prior to moving to Barcelona I did my best to exercise regularly and maintain some level of fitness. However, when I moved here there were so many new and exciting things to experience I quickly fell out of my exercise routine, to the point where other than walking I was doing no real exercise at all. Recently though, I decided it was time to jump back on the wagon and get fit and healthy again.

Enter Ebylife. I had been following fellow Scot Martin on social media for a while, feeling slightly guilty every time I saw and liked one of his shots! After living in Buenos Aires for seven years and setting up Ebylife, a health and fitness company offering tailor-made personal training and lifestyle and nutrition services, Martin has now relocated to Barcelona and is loving life here.

Whilst looking at the Ebylife website I remember thinking to myself “I don’t know if I could manage that...” and “that looks like hard work ”. I had definitely lost my “exercise confidence” and felt a little bit intimidated at the thought of getting back into the fitness gear. Not to mention showing someone whom I’d never actually met just how unfit I had become! Despite all that and with a little encouragement from Mr heartBCN I decided to give it a go.

With my “honesty is the best policy” motto, I got in contact with Martin, filled out the online intake form and told him I had no routine of regular exercise anymore and really wanted to get back to a good place. He instantly put me at ease and told me not to worry as we would take it easy in the beginning and progress as my confidence and fitness level improved.

With an initial feeling of slight dread mixed with nervousness, I headed for my first session in Parc de la Cuitadella. That is just one of the locations he offers sessions, along with The Olympic Ring at Parc de Montjuic, Barceloneta Beach and Placa de las Glories. After meeting Martin face to face I knew I would be ok. Martin is really easy to talk to and as a personal trainer understands where you are coming from. It was also great to hear another Scottish tongue! Three circuits of various exercises later including squats, planks and skipping (which I haven’t done since school!) and we were done. “That wasn’t so bad” I said to myself!

Four sessions in and I can honestly say I am enjoying it. I needed someone to motivate and encourage me at this stage and Martin is just the guy to do that. Martin has a variety of different packs available on his website from “Weight Loss ” to “Lifestyle ” and even a “Fit Pic” service which is a “media package for clients wanting to capture their fitness on camera and take it home as a souvenir”. Here Martin teams up with his very talented photographer wife Jocelyn Mandryk to candidly capture your workout routine. Also with my schedule, I need someone to be flexible with me which Martin absolutely is! I am now fully committed to getting fit! So if you are in the same position as I was then look no further. Ebylife will give you back that confidence you have lost and help you towards achieving your goal.

You can get in touch with Martin via the Ebylife website and be sure to check out his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter account’s for daily fitness motivation.
