With some 300 plus days of sunshine a year a roof top drink is always a great idea in Barcelona! Some terraces are open year round and some aren’t but as that warmer summer weather starts to build the “Terrazas ” around Barcelona start opening up and becoming busier. I love a rooftop bar especially one with a great view! So with that in mind I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite rooftop terraces.

Possibly my favourite, I love it for it’s amazing views across Port Vell and it's friendly service. They have a great selection of drinks and a cool chilled out ambience. This is also a great place to have a long lazy lunch or a relaxed dinner as they have some nice dishes on the menu too. As it’s almost always my first choice for a rooftop drink I try and bring any friends or family who are visiting from home here. Even if you bring the kids the staff couldn’t be more accommodating and always make you feel welcome.

La Isabella ” which also has great views across the Old Town and towards Montjuic is a gorgeous terrace located on the roof of “Hotel 1898 ”. With big comfortable lounge seats, it gives off a really relaxing vibe so you can enjoy your cocktail or wine, leave the stress behind and enjoy that beautiful sunset. They also have a nice menu to help soak up the drinks.

The website says it perfectly “ A Window To the Sea ”. The terrace can be accessed from the Placa de L’Armada at the Parc del Mirador where you can take the cable car across the Port. Often we stop here for a refreshment when showing visitors around the Montjuic area. It’s very peaceful and quiet with the gardens in-front, you feel like you are just on the door step of the city with views out to the port.

A new kid on the block in Barcelona, we tried this for the first time on a sunny Saturday afternoon last month and have been back since. Trendy chic, I like the vibe and style up here. There are great views from both sides of the terrace looking up towards Tibidabo and across El Borne. The cocktails are good and we loved the snack menu too, great if you fancy a few nibbles whilst sipping on your cocktail!

Located inside Hotel Condes, if you are an architecture lover you will really appreciate the views from this terrace! With two of Gaudí’s masterpiece’s in sight, La Pedrera and La Sagrada Familia, you will enjoy that glass of wine all the more. They also have live music and a food menu! You can check their website for more details of the live music.

A cute and homely terrace at Hotel Mimosa. Here you get a great view of Gaudí’s La Pedrera from the back with all its fabulous chimneys on the roof! It's lovely to sit here as the sun sets with a cold glass of “vino blanco” and the warm breeze. A nice chilled out terrace with good prices and friendly service.

Last but not least, this panoramic terrace has thee most amazing view of the cathedral! There isn’t a lot of seats, but if the terrace is busy you can always sit at the street terrace outside the front of the hotel where the views are just as good! I especially love it here in the “Golden Hour” where the setting sun casts a “gorgeous golden glow ” over the cathedral. They also have a live music schedule, check the website for more info!

There's so many terraces to chose from in Barcelona but these are a few of my personal favourites. Enjoy!
